Digs

Home Tourism. Just for fun.

Trust is the architecture of Digs.

Safe home tours start with trust.

We’ve built safety into every corner of the experience. From identity verification to host-present visits, we ensure that exploring remarkable homes is as secure as it is inspiring.

No anonymous access.

Knowing exactly who is at the door.

  • Government ID Check: Every Curator and Explorer must pass a secure, third-party ID verification process before they can book or host a visit.

  • Address Privacy: Home addresses are never public. They are only revealed to an Explorer after a Curator has manually approved the visit request.

  • Profile Transparency: See who you are meeting. Profiles include photos, verified badges, and a history of community reviews.

Designed for respect, not just volume.

Guardrails that protect the sanctuary of the home.

  • Host-Present Only: Unlike rentals, a Dig is never an “empty house” experience. Curators (or their designated representatives) are always present to guide the visit and maintain the space.

  • Small Group Limits: We strictly cap visits to small, manageable groups (typically 1–6 people). This prevents “crowding” and ensures a quiet, low-impact presence in the neighborhood.

  • Off-Limits Zones: Curators have total digital and physical control. They designate which areas are open for the visit and which remain private.

Peace of mind is standard.

  • Host Protection Insurance: We provide specialized insurance coverage for our Curators, protecting your home and property during every scheduled visit.

  • Visitor Liability: We maintain comprehensive liability standards to ensure that Explorers and Curators are protected against the unexpected.

  • Secure Payments: All financial transactions are handled through our encrypted platform. No cash ever changes hands on-site.

A community built on respect.

Two-sided reviews that matter.

Digs_Trust_Rating

The Respect Rating

After every visit, both parties rate each other. We don’t just rate “niceness”—we rate punctuality, adherence to house rules, and respect for the space.
Digs_Trust_ZeroTolerance

Zero-Tolerance Policy

We maintain a strict “one-strike” policy for safety or behavior violations. If a user doesn’t respect the sanctuary of a home or the safety of a guest, they are removed from the platform.

Digs_Trust_Badge

The Trusted Badge

High-performing Curators and Explorers earn Trusted status — a credential that unlocks priority access to the most exclusive homes and signals to the community that you’re a proven, respectful participant.

Beyond the Blueprint

Digs was born from the belief that Chicago’s most compelling stories aren’t found in museums—they’re written in the hallways of our neighborhoods.
